Note that final bloom was not weighed  as a single mass. Measurements were estimated from FINISHED weight of  completely forged object that was created by Lee Sauder with assistance by Mike McCarthy and Darrell Markewitz. The material for this reproduction Viking Age anvil  started as a very rough quarter of the bloom. Actual yield is thus considerably HIGHER than shown.
