Nancy Davies resides and works as a weaver in Muskoka. She has been weaving for fun since graduating from Georgian College in 1976 with a diploma in Design Arts, specializing in weaving and textiles. In 1997 she started weaving professionally and has since won several awards for her efforts. "The art of fibre manipulation has existed for some 20,000 years. I enjoy doing such an ancient activity and revel in the relationship between weaver and loom, warp and weft, fibre and the resulting cloth. Innovation is comfortably combined with tradition through my interpretation of Muskokan colors: using fibres such as rayon chenille, rayon and tencel: using dye techniques such as warp painting and shibori."
